We stayed here 9/29/20 – 10/1/20. The recreation area has a large field where one could tent camp. It is blocked by wooden stanchions preventing vehicles from driving out to the sites. However, there is a site with a large fire pit and picnic table next to the boat launch and another small grassy area next to the bathrooms. Other amenities include a pavilion, small playground, and a hand pump water fountain. When we spoke with the maintenance person we were told that there are plans for improvement to the area and even though it is currently free to stay there may be a fee in the future. The location was surrounded by corn fields and besides some farming equipment our stay was quiet with only a few other campers during our stay.
