Princeton, Illinois
We stayed here 10/4/20. Lock 17 is one of several areas for camping along the Hennepin Canal. At this location there are two areas for camping both are grass and there are no designated sites. There are some fire pits and picnic tables available. The lock is a short walk away from the camping areas and if you walk across the lock there is a multi-use trail on the other side that follows the length of the canal. When we stayed the fee per night was $8 and it was collected by a security person who came to our site. There is a train that runs along the other side of the corral and we did hear some noise from the train during our stay.
